Donna & I went to Cool today to ride. I took Ali'i. I haven't been on him since since 2 weeks before Tevis, so almost 12 weeks. God. I thought it was only about 8 weeks. It was so nice being on his back again and he was just the perfect angel. We only went about 6 miles, walking mainly. He went thru 2 ucky, yucky, bogging streams without much of a fuss. Donna was laughing, saying the reason he did so well is he thought maybe that was why he had to go into Goat Hell and he didn't want to go back there. Poor boy. If he thought that, I'm so sorry. He didn't do ANYTHING wrong!
I REALLY miss riding him. He's my little buddy. My heart throb. My smooshy, mushy arabian.
Donna took some other cute pictures but I didn't want to have to Photoshop my thighs and lie to you. So, the truth is: I have cellulite. I just don't want to show it to you today.
Ali'i & Lily. Like they're in love.....
When I got home I told T I wanted to get on Aura again. He laughed when I put on my helmet. Seems getting on a suspect horse is a good reason to put it on so I'm not sure what his point was, but she was very relaxed. Khaliq really spends a lot of time trying to get our attention. She'll buck, jump, rear and race around. I keep my eye on her because she thinks it's cute to rear up and land on Aura's butt with her front legs.
The plan is to work Aura in her pasture & round pen with the baby for the next 3 months. Then little Khaliq is getting weaned and we'll work on taking Aura off of the property. That will be very telling, as far as her temperament & leaving her most adorable filly. The other plan is Aura's getting a pink headstall and breastplate. I think it will look so pretty on her!!
