We have nice green pasture for the horses so T & I put up some more hot wire fencing. I've been feeding the fat horses hay, but at $21.25 a bale that I paid last week, I'm done with that. Anyway, I've been letting the goats out for a few hours a day and they actually went out to eat with the horses. They usually are more bonded to people and even thou I LOVE them, they can be a little annoying. Especially when they play with the knobs on T's really nice bar-b-que.
In this top photo they are off to the right running REALLY fast towards the house. They crack me up!!
Khaliq is between the two goats. She thought they were a lot of fun!
Here Reeses thought he'd head butt Khaliq. I think he thought twice about it, or Khaliq didn't give him the "head butt" look. I just don't think a horse would like that kind of play.
So, the horse scoop for the week: Tahoe is better, though I am waiting for his third blood test result. He's gained a ton of weight and is back to his old self. I really thought the horse was going to die, he looked so bad.
Summer is still lame off and on. I need to have a chiropractor look at her. The mares have been in season and everyone wants Ali'i. So, size isn't everything........Summer cannot keep herself off of him. I've never see a horse wrap herself around another horse so much. I also rode with my friend Kathie and I had to stay in front because her mare would just stop in the trail and not move winking her foomer doomer in his face....poor boy. He must feel so incompetent!
The other interesting scoop is: I am back to riding Ali'i. We've been out of several rides, doing a 22 miler last Thursday and he's been really fun to ride and also looks pretty good. I've heard several people tell me that when an arthritic joint fuses, there isn't any pain anymore. With him he will tell me what he can and can't do, but so far, so good. It's been really nice to ride him again. He's been stellar on the trail and drank like a champ at almost every water crossing. Donna thinks he had 9 1/2 months off to wonder what he did wrong to not go out anymore. So, whatever he thought, it was a good break mentally & physically!!
