Summer seems back to her normal self ~ THANK GOD!!! Kathie & I went to the Overlook to No Hands & back yesterday and Summer was GREAT!! It was really fun to be back on her because she has this huge walk and is just different from Ali'i. So, life is cool. Cool, cool, bitchen cool.
On the other hand I've been slowly working Aura and she has probably more training on her than I have envisioned ~ except she is a ROYAL BITCH!!! She does not play well and I'm not very happy about that. She's fine with me, but is very dominate with the other horses and even without food involved she has an attitude. Summer was tied next to her and they got into a little tiff. I then ponied Aura behind Summer down the cul-de-sac. All was well until the rest of the horses took off running high speed around the pasture and got them all messed up. The mares yelled at each other again so I dropped Aura's lead rope and she went off to graze then run up to the fence to see the other horses. When I got back to the trailer to tie up Summer I noticed she had a little cut on her hind leg from MSROYALBITCH!!! It looks superficial, but I'm not likin' THAT kind of behavior!! I like everyone to get along, including my dogs, so when someone's ready to fight, it gets me all upset. We have some work to do.
After that I took Aura for a trailer ride to the feed store as she needs trailer work. She gets in the trailer fine now, after several training sessions but she has a temper tantrum when the trailer door is shut and we aren't moving. She bucks and kicks in there so lots of work still on that. This mare is very pretty under saddle and I think will be a powerful endurance horse.
